Lauren Hare is an American artist based in Seattle, WA whose work explores concepts of women’s identity, the gamut of human experience and emotion, and the intersection of one's private and public lives within American culture. She is also interested in aging and lgbtq+ identity.

Hare was Commended for ‘Secrets’ by the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in the Outwin 2019: American Portraiture Today Exhibition in Washington D.C., her work has been featured in books and print publications including the British Journal of Photography and She Shoots Film, and has been exhibited nationally in galleries and museums, including on SF Museum of Modern Art's online platform, and is a Gold Artist on Vogue Italia's PhotoVogue.

Hare earned her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Imagery-Sustained Healing, a degree she designed examining the benefits of self-portrait photography as a practical and non-verbal modality for self-expression and accceptance.
